Customers say

Customers like the versatility, quality and value of the chipboard. For example, they mention it's great for crafting projects, perfect for creating books and boxes, and a good deal for a decent quality. That said, they say it works great for constructing buildings and other terrain builds, and that it'll save you money. As for performance, they like that it works well for making covers for mini books. As far as ease of cutting is concerned, they're happy with that, too. Opinions are mixed on the thickness.

The first run has been an amazing success with the Cricut Maker! For the price (roughly $17) I decided that I was going to risk ignoring the negative reviews.I needed something to make templates for sewing projects that I make a lot of (and would therefore stack fabric layers for quicker cuts) - for example I've made a lot of masks and the cheerio box templates are shredded from my rotary blade. This is the perfect thickness to resist damage from the rotary blade.Notes:~ This is approximately the seventh project I've made with my Cricut Maker that I purchased earlier in the month.~ The knife blade is brand new and just calibrated before the initial run.~ Definitely should've cut it down to 11 inches to avoid the star wheels, but it worked out pretty well, so if you need something done quickly, the 12×12 size is fine (just try not to wear out your wheels by abusing them).~ I chose the Heavy Chipboard option, which is for 2 mm (Damask Chipboard would have been more fitting since the sheets are 1.5mm).~ KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR MACHINE! Seriously, at the material setting I had it on, Design Space was going to make 24 passes - do you know what I stopped it at? 6. I've attached a picture of the mat because you can see the cut outline. Yes the (semi mutilated) mat is one of the more expensive lightweight cricut brand mats, however when I unboxed it with the machine it was bent and has maintained a warp no matter how much weight I keep on it to flatten it *sigh*.~ I used Scotch Blue Painters Tape to help hold the chipboard to the mat. I only had issues peeling it off from sections where the star wheels continually passed over, probably making a more secure bond to the chipboard. I'll have to see what happens with future projects.

5.0 out of 5 stars thick and sturdy, works great with Bigz dies
Reviewed in Canada on April 15, 2021
I wanted a good stiff chipboard for Mixed Media work, and the Grafix Medium Weight Chipboard Sheets did not disappoint.

The picture shows the chipboard cut with the Tim Holtz Cathedral Window Bigz die, and painted with some Dina Wakely acrylics. I ran it through using a Vagabond 2, but it would work as well with the Big Shot or Big Kick machines.

The finished die cut is not only sturdy, but will add dimension to whatever piece I use it with.

This is probably about as heavy as you'd want to go for die cutting chip board. It's too thick for the really thin dies, but great for the thick 'cookie cutter' Bigz dies.
