Here’s a costume guide to recreate the iconic dance scene from Casper, the quintessential 90s movie featuring the most quintessential on-screen couple – Christina Ricci and my ultimate childhood crush – Devon Sawa!

Devon and Christina recently had a reunion to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the movie (feeling old already guys?) which makes this THE PERFECT costume for 2025!

Dress up as Kathleen Harvey (Christina Ricci)

Kat has a really nice getup going featuring a vintage dress and boots!

	Long Lace Dress The iconic dress has 3 main important features – long loose sleeves, maxi cut, and lacey details. This is one dress I found which ticks all 3 and has that same vibe. I would just remove the waist belt to let it flow naturally
	Long Lace Dress Option 2 Here is another option, though it doesn’t have the lace collar detail so you’d need to combine this with the dickey collar below
	Lace Collar You can place this over the dress above to achieve the vintage feel of Kat Harvey’s dress
	Military Boots My favorite part of the attire – her military boots!
	Silver Ring For that extra detail, wear a silver band on the middle finger of your left hand

Dress up as Casper (Devon Sawa)

IMAGINE: Devon is in the movie for just 5 short minutes, but he managed to stay totally ingrained in my memory bank since the movie came out 30 years ago! I still gush watching the scene where he goes down the flight of stairs and asks Kat for a dance.

	Blonde Wig Devon sports the classic 90s hairdo with the middle part. You’d need to gel this up to get the same do as Devon
	Pirate Renaissance Top We don’t get to see the front details of Casper’s shirt, but the most important part of the top would be the loose sleeves which he bunches up until the elbow. The Funko version of Casper implies it has that crisscross tie detail on the front. Plus, this top works perfect with the rest of the renaissance/pirate costume
	Medieval Pants Wear your basic pair of black medieval pants
	Pirate Boots Finish the outfit with – you guessed it – a pair of medieval pirate-y boots!
