Planeteers

Captain Planet has a great supporting cast of planeteers to help him save the earth! Each planeteer is armed with a special power ring that when combined, call upon the superhero Captain Pladnet.

Dressing up as a planeteer is pretty easy. As long as you’re wearing the distinct planet logo shirt, you will definitely be recognizable. It’s a pretty neat group costume idea. For couples, dress up as Linka and Wheeler!

Planeteer Rings

Every planeteer is armed with a special ring. Here’s how to score one!

	Captain Planet Rings These are 1991 Captain Planet ring toy replicas! Based on the description, the ring changes colors and has 6 sounds – probably to correspond to every sound of the planeteer rings. I am hoping it also changes colors
	Light-up Ring This is a pretty inexpensive alternative. It comes in a variety of colors that correspond to the Planeteers. Just a catch: this is only for one item and you will get a random color sent to you.

Dress up as Gi (Water)

	Black Bob Wig Gi has short hair with straight bangs. I tried to scour for a bob wig with perfect positive reviews but found most of the products had mixed reviews. This has an average rating of 3.5 stars – not too shabby
	Planeteer Shirt Wear a pink planeteer shirt
	Blue Denim jacket A blue denim jacket is a good casual piece to match with the rest of her outfit. Fold the sleeves up a bit
	Gold Circle Necklace Gi wears a necklace with a gold circle pendant. On the pendant, there is a symbol on it that isn’t very readable. An exact replica is not available online, but this circle pendant is a good fit. It also provides free engraving
	Brown Shorts Gi wears a pair of brown short pants, just like Linka. Fold the ends of your shorts. Tuck your planeteer shirt inside your shorts
	Belt with Gold Buckle A simple belt with a gold buckle will do the trick.
	Pink High Cut Sneakers This pair by DC is super cute in shades of pink and baby blue. She wears a pair of light green socks inside

Dress up as Kwame (Earth)

	Gold Snake Chain Necklace His power is reflected in his style as well – featuring some African-inspired tribal accessories. His necklace is a simple gold chain similar to this piece
	Red Planeteer Shirt Easiest part of the costume – just wear a red planeteer shirt! Tuck it inside your shorts – all the planeteers wear it like that except for Wheeler!
	Khaki Vest Over the shirt, Kwame wears an unzipped safari vest
	Bangle for Men On the photo, it appears Kwame is wearing gold bangles. But if you’d like a more tribal, masculine look, I think this tribal leather bangle is a better choice. It looks really cool and is pretty cheap too!
	Brown Belt with Gold Buckle An inexpensive brown belt with a gold buckle is all you need
	Green Short Pants This pair is a very modern piece that you’d wear again on a casual day out
	Blue High Cut Sneakers Kwame appears to be wearing a pair of high cut lace sneakers

Dress up as Linka (Wind)

Thanks to Mindy for pointing this out: Linka sports a blue shirt in the photo below (and in some selected episodes) but in the opening credits and in most other episodes, she actually sports a yellow planeteer shirt, paired with a blue long-sleeved shirt, and a cargo vest.

This is a photo of her yellow shirt and brown vest outfit (plus a close look at her badges):

	Blonde Wig Tie the wig in a ponytail. If you have naturally blonde hair then all the simpler!
	Blue Planeteer Tee This blue tee has a green planet logo, just like the one Linka wears. If you wish to go for the opening credits outfit, get yourself a yellow planeteer shirt instead. and wear a dark blue long-sleeved shirt over it.
	Brown Cargo Vest In the opening credits sequence, Linka pairs her yellow planeteer shirt with a brown cargo vest. If you want to add some extra detail your vest, you can stitch on the patches on the upper left portion of her jacket: a music note, star, etc. This piece has a great rugged / military look that I would personally wear on casual days.
	Star Buckle Linka wears a belt with a red star buckle. This buckle can work with any snap belt. If you don’t have a snap belt yet, you can check out the one below
	Brown Leather Belt You can attach the buckle above to this belt
	Brown Shorts Fold the ends like Linka does
	Light Green Sneakers This pair is super cute!

Dress up as Ma-Ti (Heart)

	Blue Planeteer Shirt Ma-Ti wears a blue planeteer shirt. His is a lighter, greener shade but this should work fine
	Khaki Vest Like Kwame, the youngest planeteer wears a khaki vest
	Black Belt with Gold Buckle Another simple piece to the costume – a black belt with a gold buckle.
	Brown Shorts Ma-Ti wears a pair of brown shorts. This pair has some pocket details to give it a more outdoor look
	Red Leather Wrap Bracelet This has a very nice tribal touch to it.
	Green Feathers For that extra detail, DIY by attaching these feathers onto the armband. Glue gun should do the trick
	Plush Monkey Here’s a cute idea: bring along Ma-ti’s sidekick monkey, Suchi! Place him on top of your shoulder

Dress up as Wheeler (Fire)

	Orange Wig Orange is an appropriate color for the guy who wields the power of fire.
	Planeteer Shirt Wheeler wears a blue-green Planeteer shirt. Unlike the others, Wheeler’s shirt is not fully tucked in. Only tuck in half of the shirt and let the rest flow down naturally. I think this casual look fits his playful, irreverent personality perfectly!
	Brown Casual Jacket This is a nice piece with pocket details. Fold the sleeves like Wheeler does
	Blue High Top Sneakers Keep the laces undone – another nice detail to complement Wheeler’s personality
